Helen Harmer, 66, of Scranton, died Monday morning at Allied Services Hospice Center.
Daughter of the late Bruno and Bernice Gursky Macavage, she attended Scranton public schools. She worked for various local firms including Grove Textiles and Allied Services before retirement.
Helen enjoyed playing cards, word puzzles and listening to her favorite oldies music. She loved spending time with her family and pets, especially Molly. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her friends and family for her wit, jokes and sense of humor.
She leaves behind a son, Charles and wife, Michalle; two grandchildren, Scarlett and Violet; two sisters, Ruth Catalano; and Penny Nemeth and companion, Frank Wrona, with whom she resided; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernie Macavage and Joseph Macavage.
A private viewing was held at Neil W. Regan Funeral Home Inc., 1900 Pittston Ave., Scranton. In accordance with her wishes, she has been cremated and interred at Cathedral Cemetery. To email condolences, visit the funeral home website.
