Betty Weaver, 65, of Olyphant, died Saturday June 21 at Regional Hospital of Scranton after an illness. Born in Scranton, she was a daughter of the late John Corby and Grace Schmidt.
Betty was educated in Scranton schools and traveled in many different places, making her home in Germany, North Carolina, and Las Vegas before returning home to Pennsylvania. Before her illness, she was employed as a nurse's aide. Her family was everything to her, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her biggest joys. She made a point to fill family gatherings with laughter and music, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are her children, Nicholas Christiano and wife, Estelle; Russell Christiano and wife, Justine Richardson; Barbara and husband Felix Delgado; Cody Weaver, and Holly Weaver; many siblings, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Betty's life will be held Thursday at 7:45 p.m. at the Neil W. Regan Funeral Home Inc., 1900 Pittston Ave.
