James ("Jake") Budd Tracy, 72, of Tunkhannock, passed away at home on Thursday, July 23, 2026. Born November 21, 1953, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, he was the son of James Budd Tracy (Sr) and Joan Conboy Tracy Wallace. Jake grew up in Scranton, attended Scranton Central High School and later Keystone College where he earned Phi Theta Kappa honors. Jake worked for many years as a landscaper and prior to retirement, as a technician for Masters Concrete.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his beloved sisters Christine Tracy and Karen Friemann, and his stepfather Herbert Wallace.
He is survived by his devoted caregiver, former wife, and life-long friend, Marie Elena Tracy, loving children Juli (Mike), Colin (Jill), Joseph (Jessica), and Krysta (Eric), and grandchildren Nora Tracy, Max Tracy, and TJ and Eloise Ulness; his brother-in-law John Friemann and nieces Anna Grippi (Chris) and Rebecca Kenderes (Kevin) and their families.
The best days were filled riding his Harley and blasting music. He will be remembered for his humor and wit and, most of all, his love for and dedication to family.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
